SXSW, Patriot Bootcamp, Rocky Mountain Veteran Pitch, Upcoming Site Selection Auction, New Clients and More...
As we roll into fall, StageXchange would like to first thank all of you for being a part of this wonderful journey we have been on this year. Being invited to events like Select USA, Patriot Bootcamp, and Endeavor Mexico’s Match.VC this summer helped to shape our vision for the future and provide us with a better understanding of what is needed from our platform. It was a great honor to not only be selected for these events, but to be invited back year after year is more than we could have ever expected when we started down this path. Thank you to those organizations for your confidence in our platform; it allows us to proceed knowing that we are moving in the right direction.
Veteran Events, Past and Upcoming
Most recently, we attended the Patriot Bootcamp Event to mentor veteran entrepreneurs. Our own Rushell Hopkins is an OEF/OIF veteran and her commitment to helping other veterans has led us to working with several veteran-focused accelerators and nonprofit organizations. One such organization, the Rocky Mountain Veterans ha an upcoming pitch competition in November (www.RockyMountainVets.org). The Rocky Mountain Vets team is an extremely capable organization that we recommend to our clients and partners. We look forward to helping veteran entrepreneurs and innovators develop their business pitches and Deal Books so that they can secure the funding they need.
The Future of StageXchange
On the horizon, we have a return to SXSW as a technology partner in 2019. New for 2019 and the eleventh annual SXSW Pitch (formerly SXSW Accelerator), deal books from the finalists will be added to the SXSW Startup Marketplace that can be accessed by the judges and attendees. SXSW Pitch takes place in front of a live audience and panel of expert judges to discover advancements in various sectors of emerging technology. We cannot be more excited or grateful about being a part of this exciting conference and look forward to sharing this experience with those of you who will also be attending this amazing event. SXSW has always been known as a place where the next generation of creators and innovators are found and we are fortunate to be a tiny part of helping to make history.
Economic Incentives
Our last announcement is that StageXchange is on the verge of kicking off our Site Selection tool. Over the summer, we have had the enormous privilege to collaborate with several hardworking Economic Development Offices (EDO) to create a robust tool for site selection that streamlines the way economic incentives are awarded. We want to thank Gary Wilson of Caroline County, Virginia and Deborah Teufel of Hutchinson County, KS for being among the first 8 EDOs to sign on for this project. These two development offices are among a group of EDOs in Virginia, North Carolina, Texas and Kansas who have been actively assisting us with building our process. The Site Selection Tool was developed in response to the demand StageXchange received from several overseas manufacturing firms looking to expand into the U.S. that were unsatisfied with conventional methods of site selection including how economic incentives are awarded today.
Odds and Ends
I don't know about you, but I have always wondered when CEOs knew that their brand had taken off. Was it when they got their first mention in the press or first 10k followers on Twitter? Recently, we were mentioned in the press and I'm debating whether or not to put an image up announcing it to the world. Thanks to everyone who made that happen for us.
Lastly, to those of you who have been in the path of these crazy hurricanes our thoughts and prayers have been with you and if there is some way we can be of help do not hesitate to reach out.
